41Popped in here for a drink and an appetizer on a weekday afternoon. The place wasn’t very busy at the time but they had plenty of tvs for sporting events so I can imagine they’d be pretty packed during a game. We visited based on a recommendation from a family member and weren’t disappointed. The calamari and the nachos were fantastic! We also appreciated the friendly staff who chatted with us and gave us some suggestions for fun things to do for the rest of the afternoon while wandering the island.
Great place to enjoy good food, sipping a few drinks and having fun. In the 1978 definitely the best pub and sportsbar on the Island. I was the place to be at least 3 times a week. Friendly staff, chilled atmosphere. Those days they had even live music. Its the place where locals enjoy the evening, it is not a touristic place.
A short walk from our hotel at Royal Palms. Was completely empty when we visited (around 2pm on a Wednesday). Service was a bit slow but not really upset about that as I wasn’t in Bermuda to move quickly. However, the fact that the fish for some of the dishes was frozen rather than fresh was a bit disappointing. The menu is also an eclectic combination of items (hotdogs, chowder, quesadillas, etc.). Hard to tell what they focus on / do really well. The waiter had a difficult time giving us this answer as well.
It's a nice pub that serves good food and staff are very friendly and always welcome you with a smile.
First time I had dinner there and I really enjoyed the food. Get a very good portion of food. Very nice. Friendly staff.
The food is good, the wiatresses are very attentive. If it wasn't for the manager I'd give it 4 stars, I found him arrogant and not appreciative of new customers. Not impressed with his attitude. Shame as it is a really nice place.
Came here quite a few times for good food and some good football games.bit dark on the inside.enjoy the $10 Monday's menu and enjoy it.compared to other Bermuda restaurants they have very decent prices and good sized portions.friendly staff
Great $10 lunch specials on a Monday. I ordered the chicken tikka and white rice a something lil naan but it wasn't it was African I think but it was amazing. Just the right amount of spicy just perfect.
Had a girls night at Robin Hood recently and it seems the chef was having an off night or it was too close to closing time. The calamari was rubbery, shrimp salad was way too spicy, we had to send it back to the kitchen. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The music was good but those rowdy Bermudians made the experience a funny one. Bring the food standards back to its former glory at the Hood.
It's a great place to eat and watch your favorite sporting events. I often go there for dinner and lunch.
Goid food.good prices.one of the male waiters is rude.takes orders but cant remember them and has to come back and take again. Clears before asking if people are finished. Had him twice with same problems. Train him or fire him.
This is what a local joint should be.
I am a traveler and a sucker for local joints.
Great food, awesome DJ.
Decent for food.with good drink prices. But the drinks do not taste nearly as strong as other places.could have been the bar tender I had.
Probably the only truly local bar we found in Hamilton. They're plenty of nice pubs in town and they're good, but most feel a bit overly oriented to tourist. This is not one of those places. Not fancy, not polished up for tourist, just a pub with a few beers on tap and some pretty darn good pub grub at the most reasonable prices we came across. Packed on a Saturday morning at 11am all watching football (soccer). Fun little stop as long as you understand it's a pub and not a five star restaurant.
Fantastic pub! If you wanting to watch any sport then a good bet is that they will be showing it. If you an expat and looking for rugby then this is the place to go watch it. Good vibe and food is not bad.
It is a fun place. We had our crew party to celebrate our Newport-Bermuda Race at Robin Hood. It is great fun to be there. The food, the service, the drinks are all very enjoyable.
Great service, food was standard. Loud sports bar with a lot of TVs. Fun place, not for a quiet evening.
Nice spot for some late night grub that's a step above the traditional bar food. The large patio and pleasant weather were a nice combination.
Good standard Bermuda pub fare excellent fish chowder. Lots of viewing opportunities for sports.
Pros: better priced food than most places on the island, and it came out quickly and tasted good. Also the staff were nice and accomodating. Cons: the music was loud, maybe because it was a Friday night but a bit hard to have a conversation however they do have a quiet room. The patio was nice but several people had too much to drink plus a lot of smoking. Would probably go back to this restaurant.
