The Hog Penny

Great service, food, and quiet atmosphere. The fries were nice and hot and very crispy. Great wings, pretzels and club sandwich.

I nipped in to try the fish chowder which was amazing.
Sadly, whilst "Chris" the bar tender was both friendly and attentive to customers. Thought it funny to be rude and obnoxious to staff in front of customers!

I ate, and left.

Overattentive staff to the point it was plain weird, air con blasting freezing air and the food was ridiculously priced.you’d also expect a full meal with an cottage pie not just the pie.staff member also ran off when we were waiting to pay the bill for 20 minutes

My family and I just went there for coffee and dessert, so this isn't a full review. We all had the sticky toffee pudding and it was just so-so. Disappointing. The coffee was okay but not the best. Ambiance was very British pub and service was great.

This is a traditional English pub with a lot of traditional English dishes like bangers and Mash. I had the chicken pot pie. It was very good. My friend had the jambalaya. It was huge! Drinks were really tasty too. We were seated right beside the women's bathroom which was a little awkward. The bathroom was by far the smallest bathroom I have ever experienced.

Ordered our food and after an hour of waiting, we asked our server what the status was. She said she had no idea and walked away. We asked her again a few minutes later and she responded that she, “wasn’t a chef” and walked away again. We then got fed up and asked for our check and she said we would need to pay for the food we ordered (and never received). When we told her we were not going to pay for food we never received she summoned the manager. He was at least accommodating about and offered to go check on the food. At that point we were pretty fed up and just left. He at least didn’t charge us for the two drinks we ordered. Shame because we had heard good things about the place.

Great Food. Fantastic staff and Fantastic service.
The only negative is that the carpeting is dinghy and worn. Not appealing to eye or tourist when they enter the front door.

We always stop at the Hog Penny when we visit Bermuda. And will when we go again this Spring. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere cozy but we only went once in the summer. The place is small (and busy) but you settle in and don't really want to get up and go. The menu satisfies both the vegetarian and traditional eaters- that's us. Reasonable, cozy, tasty-what more do you want?

4th time visiting! We absolutely have to stop here each time visiting Bermuda! Cool atmosphere, great service and amazing food! I already can't wait til next time to come back.on our visit!

Amazing food! The fish and chips dish was huge (split it!) And the best I have ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Not a full 5 stars because the restaurant was a bit warm- especially when you are trying to escape the Bermuda heat! Overall would recommend for the food and service

Came here for both lunch and supper and was disappointed I didn't get a chance to go again. Very friendly staff and the outdoor seating was perfect

Nice traditional British pub in the center of Hamilton just meters from Front Street. Very nice staff and good food and drinks. Recommended.

The bartender made us both a dark and stormy. The drinks were great and the conversation with him was great as well. Every place we went in Bermuda, we were treated friendly. This place was no different. Will return when in Bermuda again.

Food was great. We had dinner here twice and both times were great. Definitely preferred sitting outside. The weekend gets quite busy.

We arrived at the Penny just around 1.30pm. We were promptly escorted to our outdoor table where we could see the Viking Orion in the Hamilton dock.

The waiter took our drinks order shortly after seating us. Service was fast and the wait staff were pleasant. We both ordered the Chicken Masala. The portion sizes were large enough that I was able to eat and leave some for a 2nd meal when I got home.

The first time we came we had 2 star service, I let the manager know and our second visit was 200 % better. Nathan gave exemplary service and we will surly return! They restored my faith in the Hog Penny!

The Hog Penny is still giving me the same delicious food and excellent service it has for over 30 years. The Hog reigns supreme!

Best Fish Chowder! Highly recommend. Must have with the Sherry Pepper sauce and Black Rum. I look forward to my next visit and will definitely come back for the chowder.

The best bar before covid, the only bar after covid that feels like home after lockdown while keeping within regulations.

Both our iPhones and credit card got hacked there. They hacked our email too We were there 9-23-19. Their wifi isn’t secure
